How to Drink Epsom Salts for a Detox

Epsom salt derives its name from the mineral waters of Epsom, England. It is beneficial for a wide variety of conditions including stress, skin problems and colds. Epsom salts are also beneficial toxin flushers. Because of this, an Epsom salt detox is helpful to the major body organs. Doing a detox can help purify the blood and lymph system, improve liver functioning and bile flow and it can remove stagnant waste from the liver and gallbladder.

Things You'll Need
Epsom salt
½ cup olive or coconut oil
1 large grapefruit or ¾ cup fresh grapefruit juice

Prepare a nonfat breakfast and lunch for the day of your detox. Eating vegetables, toast or cooked cereal is suggested. Eating and drinking should be stopped by 2 p.m.

Mix 4 tbsp. of Epsom salt and with 3 cups of water. Place the mixture in your refrigerator. Allow ample time for it to chill before you will drink it as it tastes better when cold.

Drink ¾ cup of the mix at 6 p.m and 8 p.m.

Take ½ cup of olive oil and ½ cup squeezed grapefruit or grapefruit juice and mix it in a jar. You will want a jar with a lid since you will need to shake the mixture well. Drink it at 10 p.m.

Rise at 6 a.m. to drink the Epsom salt mixture. Repeat at 8 a.m. as well.

At 10 a.m., drink a small serving of juice. Slowly begin introducing light foods back into your diet. Avoid fried foods and meat.
